Oh yes, sorry, was trying to hold the diagram in my mind while typing on the phone. But the same would happen as the signal goes into the volume pot then out to the leg of the capacitor, which is also on the pot case.
Unless the capacitor leg was un-soldered from the case, but then I’m not sure what would happen. I think it would be like a permanent tone rolled off...

I think no, as all your signal will go to ground as the output of the pickup select is going to the pot cases, which are grounded.
