motherboard seems and odd choice when you're using an AIO. Also I would want a titanoum rated PSU or gold at a higher wattage with a 3090

As mentioned previously, my 3080 is perfectly happy on 850W and the whole thing has never drawn more than 580W from the wall. A single 3090 won't need more.
As far as I can tell that motherboard is available in vanilla and watercooled versions. Identical in all other respects except for the price tag, but the regular one is still an eye-watering £700.

I've been looking at building a mini-ATX gaming machine or maybe holding out for a laptop when the mobile versions of the 3000 series cards are available because I just never use my massive tower ATX machine while the only place it fits is in a different room. I knew the new 3000 cards were impossible to find but it seems like all GPUs are sold out everwhere, there's nothing available even shit ones.

Calm down you lot. It was 2am or something. Happy with either the non waterforce mobo or the waterforce and just radiator instead of combo block.
It's not for aesthetics. I'd much prefer a compact micro/mini black box with no RGB at all.
Requirements:
Space and support for a 3090. Potentially two in the future if SLI is still a thing and it will boost my performance in Resolve/Fusion/Blender etc.
2.5gbe or higher (2 ports preferred)
Thunderbolt 3 (2 ports preferred)
Space for a few extra cards would be useful (something like a decklink)
At least 2 m.2 slots
Vaguely interested in an internal RAID.The z490 (£700 or so) has all of that built in rather than have to get another mobo and then find extra parts.

You can get TB3 add in cards (I have one kicking about somewhere).
You are such a NOOB. -

If interested, I have a 3070 up thread that I'm either selling here at cost (£600) or returning to store (Amazon)

SLI is basically dead at this point

Is there an equivalent for stacking GPUs in that range?

Thats good to know, i had seen some coverage that the draw can spike and trip the PSU protection which is why i menionted it.

I'm honestly tempted but I'm not even using my PC at the moment, especially with a new puppy in the house. And besides I'm still using an AM3+ CPU and DDR3 RAM so all that stuff needs upgrading at the same time so may as well do a whole new build.

i mean, it still exists, but the benifits dont really outweigh the cost of a second GPU - its only a tiny performance return compared to its height a few years ago

SLI isn't required for that sort of stuff. two cards will work without being physically connected. NVLink may offer further benefits with the 3090s, mainly in terms of memory iirc.

Cool, thanks. I have no immediate plans to get another but y'know. When I'm Rome/on PcPartsPicker

Looks like SFF's back on the menu boys.

I'd seen this early in the search but discounted it as thinking it'd be too much of a squeeze/crap performance but I've seen some thermal tests showing only 1 or 2 degrees different thermals with panels on vs off after an hour at stress plus a few good walk throughs of installing big cards in it - the case looks really flexible for its size. Worth a go I reckon.

The site only lets me add the evga card but I believe the gigabyte I ordered should fit in with a cm to spare. If not, open bench anyone?

what are folk using to stream content to their TV from PCs - still Chromcast? I have recently acquired the LOTR 4k version and much desire to enjoy it on my TV
edit: my TV (hisense) doesn't get on well with Plex, sadly.

Nvidia shield pro.
Carrying from a pc works, but the problem is 4k bandwidth demands are high... Wireless struggles.
