Just finished my replay of this, and as astonishing an achievement as TLOU2 is, that first game is just so pure, like The Terminator to T2, Alien to Aliens, every moment is brilliant.

On the subject of the sequel, I've abandoned my replay of that, too soon, I want to forget more of it before I enjoy it again. I thought it would be fun to play through with infinite ammo, really savour unfettered use of the bow, stealthily wiping out foes from the weeds, but it turns out half the fun is managing resources, working out the best strategy using what meagre ammo you've got and carefully deploying crafted items.

Haven't got a game on the go at the moment, games I started but abandoned:

Outer Worlds (just didn't engage me despite being a big Fallout New Vegas fan)

Red Dead Redemption 2 (beautiful and deep but I just don't think I'm feeling very on board with a slow paced experience sim)

Alien Isolation (will probably jump back into this based on my point above)

Going to finally pull the trigger on a SNES Mini (anyone selling theirs?) and have a bit of a nostalgia-fest before getting a PS5 and playing Resident Evil 4 Remake and Cyberpunk

sadly not played it but heard it's good but not quite as good as RE2R and pretty short, I think. expect there's similar replayability to RE2R. really hope RE4R looks as good as 2R and 3R

Luckily they're all new to me as I didn't play them first time around, I was deeply embedded in N64 land when the PS was rampaging across the world

providing they don't fsck things up colossally (which seems unlikely going by RE2R and 3R), you're in for a massive treat when 4 remake comes out. I hope they just reuse the merchant's voiceover from the original

Oh yes I should say that I jumped on the train at 4, playing it on the Gamecube and the Wii, but it's been long enough for me to forget most of it.

RE8 out this year too, RE7 was one of my games of that year, just reeeeeally hope they don't fuck that up

I am nearing the end of Jedi Fallen Order.
Started off alright, nicely paced getting additional Jedi skills, but...
Samey samey enemies are boring, some bosses are absolute nails (Ninth Sister, I'm looking at you) even on low difficult settings (apart from the absolute easy one, which makes you basically invincible), the health replenishing is a little hit-or-miss, I've died a few times waiting for the robot thing to give me my jabs.

I'll finish it, might try for 100%, but if it seems too much of a grind I'll uninstall and never think of it again.

(It's on EA play, and probably worth giving it a couple of hours if you think you might like it)

guys, just installed GTA5 from steam on my laptop...problem is, i lose the sound all together if try to use bluetooth...this never happened with other steam games.... do you have any tips? THX in advance

Would have likely skipped over this but looked into it after you posted this and downloaded it yesterday as saw it on game pass. Enjoyed dropping in and out of it yesterday.

I'm a big fan of the tomb raider reboots. Shadow is a good one.

Funny to see Diablo mentioned above. Just dropped my nightly warzone games after a rage quit and two of us have picked up Diablo 3 on PS5. The season system is quite attractive but I may be naive about how hard it is to complete. 4k 60fps with no apparent performance issues even at the messiest of times.

A friend of mine is looking to sell his PS3 500gb super slim. 2 controllers. Power cable and usb cable for 1 controller. No HDMI. 4 games included for £60 - collection from N16 or postage at cost.

Ran through the Foundation DLC in control over the last few days. (vague spoilers ahead)

After playing Apex Legends non-stop for last few months movement felt super clunky but muscle memory soon came back. When I saw the F-word motherfudger I started swinging immediately and took me about 4 tries to take him down but was more just bad luck stopping me each time, nothing like the frustrating fights of the base game.

Got a bit bored doing that endless level in the void as well, was about 25% too long imo.

Had a proper rage on with the action movie mission. required very specific movements to keep the camera positioned so you could see where you're landing (using the same shitty false difficulty as the f-word fights). every death then sent you back to a save point a completely unnecessary hike away including a trip in a lift. I managed to get it done in about 6 attempts but I full on resented whatever cunt made those game design decisions. sucked all the fun out of what would have possibly been the high point otherwise.

all in all it was good fun, the 2 new moves dont really do much for me but i guess i wont use them now the dlc is finished.

started the AWE dlc but apex has some new content so that'll likely go on hold for a bit.

so yeah that action movie mission... I enabled god mode. it drove me crazy too

Back on smash bros, infuriating but so so good. Still determined to git gud with falco.
