I went most of my life riding in trainers sneering at folk wearing pointless mtb shoes. That was until a few years ago and got some five tens. Couldn't ever go back now.
The soles are mad grippy, almost too grippy. They actually feel better once they've been used for a few weeks.
When brand new foot placement can be like - that's not quiet right, lift off and back on again a few times before placement feels right. But after a bit of use it becomes easier to reposition your foot without having to completely lift of the pedal. They are a bit pricey but I got freerider pros in the sale for £70 on the Adidas website last year. Keep your eye out for some in the sale.
Highly recommended.
please can someone recommend a flat mtb shoe? Or is it five tens all the way (££)? Got some really nice and sticky burgtec flat pedals, but have been using some adidas trainers.
They're fine - but get shitted up this time of year easily. Might get a separate winter pair of something waterproof for when it's a mud bath? Cheers
