Thanks. The room is a weird L shape with two focus points, the french doors and then the range oven. Should I start a tile centred with them both?

If I was you thats the way id do it. Put a set down the middle of it and then work off that at either side.
looks a good start but obviously check you don't have any small cuts. We've had cork tiles in the utility for several years -dead easy to lay and fix
