Can absolutely recommend replacing old narrow lead piping with new fat plastic. I spent several days sledgehammering through concrete and digging a trench through our front garden so it could be done. Took days and our plumber did the mains connection. Not sure Thames Water would approve but we haven't disappeared into a sinkhole yet and it was a few years ago.
Also unvented cylinder and system boiler is the bomb (literally if not installed correctly)

To be clear I didn't have a leak so it was a toss up between leaving it and hoping it didn't leak in the future, or sorting it out and having peace of mind (and better water pressure).
