    Which is the problem resonating through the entire trump ordeal. They’ll toe the party line regardless of legality or craven sociopathy - such is their hate and fear for the alternative.

  • Before it all kicked off I was watching the first series of objections speeches while doing the ironing #dadlife. Ted Cruz's (very feeble) argument was that because 39% of Americans believe that the election was rigged they should therefore pause the confirmation and have a further investigation. No proof or even allegations - just that fact that people now believe it to be true.
    He and the other republicans objecting have clearly calculated that their support is now mostly Trumpist and they need to keep that base onside. Cruz will run in 2024, I presume thinking that Trump will be out of the picture and he can ride in on the coattails. Nothing to do with political beliefs -solely about how to get/maintain power.
