This all has the feel of Ep2-Attack of the Clones with the sentate vote.

Gerrymandering and voter suppression. To my mind, they should be suspending the Senators from states that have rejected representative democracy until they sort out their shit. And then make Senate seat allocation proportionate to population. But I'd cause a civil war within a month.

AH! I knew there were 2, but thought his was the uncertain seat. But yes, you are right, its a vote, so the other seat could still be lost.

Apparently the Purdue/Ossoff was 0.01% difference when they stopped counting, but most of the outstanding votes were from highly Dem areas. Not seen that confirmed though.

tbh, I was really sure the Reps would take at last one of these, probably Loeffler (mainly through painting Warnock as 'communist' i.e. Black), and it's really pleasing to watch them fuck it up through the sort of infighting the Dems seemingly had a monopoly on.

Bring back Reps.

Having just watched (brief) video of all four, I'd say the Democratic candidates are both more charismatic than their opponents, with Warnock leading, and I'd say Loeffler is the least charismatic of the lot. The best speaker, by some margin, seems to be Ossoff. Even as politicians go, he's very on-message, concise, and clear. Obviously, it helps with charisma if you don't peddle division, as both Perdue and Loeffler did in the speeches I watched bits of. I don't know how the 'radical socialist' angle works in the US, but it does seem very odd against candidates standing with Joe Biden. Warnock comes across as a little out of his element and hesitant in more scripted speeches or in the debate against Loeffler. He seems to be much better in stump appearances, where I guess he can use his pulpit experience more.

Obviously, it's all subjective how they come across to you.

Agree so much. I thought the election being called was the end of this, but the continued challenges from Trump and the majority of the Republicans shows that this still isn't finished. I no longer doom scroll after googling for Trump on awakening but still have to check in at some point in the day to be reminded it isn't just him but the party apparatus too.

I'm looking forward to the upcoming period of reflection from the Republican Party, where the realise they weren't moving with the majority of Americans.

I'm sure this will happen and we'll see a more centrist, moderate Republican Party into 2024 and beyond.
