What about Shimano CX50 ?

Wide cantilevers like those 720 CR are hard to get to generate any power

I've been using for a little while Genetic cantilever brakes with longer Kool stop thinline pads and Yokozuna compressionless brake cables and they function smoothly. They are pretty much the same as Tektro 720 but come with barrel adjusters.
