  • FC 6800 single chainring narrow wide. 38 - 40 t.

    Who else apart from superstar?
(Deckas is a "hard no" from me)

  • Did you mean to tag me in this one. because I have no idea.

  • Not at all. I'm sorry!

  • Fat thumbs. Doing multiple jobs.

  • I think you should just get the superstar one if it suits tbh.

  • It's too big. >40 t.

  • Seconded. I've a pair of these working faultlessly 24/7 (they're never without batteries in them) since 2006. Also, if you phone him up, the guy at Batterylogic (it's a one man outfit) will talk to you all day about batteries as they are his passion.

  • Wolf Tooth, Garbaruk, Absolute Black?

  • (Deckas is a "hard no" from me)

    Are they badly made?

  • They require a.file.

  • a question for bicycle mechanics/shop sales people on here:
I'm having a hell of a time finding Maxxis XC tyres in 27.5+ flavour anywhere, is this Covid related or due to a shift away from 27.5+ to the now more widely (no pun intended) accepted 2.6 sizing across both 27.5 and 29?

  • Everything is sold out everywhere.

  • And most big Euro retailers have stopped shipping to plague island.

  • Or you could buy a stereo to mono 3.5mm to 1/4" adapter instead of the one you're already using?

..got that yesterday, works perfectly - thank you again! 🙂

  • bike-discount stopped shipping just before Xmas but looks like it's now enabled again. They had actually removed UK from the "Choose destination" list and all that. It might have to do with DPD(.de) rejecting packages for plague island. I had multiple big-ticket items on order from them, eventually got refunds and had to pay £££ locally.

  • Is Loctite (222 or similar low strength) really expensive or am I just looking in the wrong places? I'm sure I remember a 10ml bottle being a few quid but now it seems to be going on for a tenner with delivery wherever I look.

    Am I just remembering wrong?

  • I think it has always been quite spendy. Especially when purchased in small quantities.

  • For customers from Great Britain there is a minimum order value of 175 GBP incl. shipping costs. Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to ship complete bicycles and bulky goods to the UK.

Ouch. And that limit is excluding VAT I guess:

Deliveries to Great Britain are net, i.e. without national sales tax. This tax is then due on import. If United Kingdom is selected as the country of delivery, the prices are displayed in the shop without sales tax.

Glad I'm done with new bike parts for a long time. (Narrator voice: He wasn't)

  • Cheers. Maybe I'm just misremembering the good old days.

  • Is the 'face' of this a flat surface? It doesnt look it to me. If not, why not?

    • Quaternion_Julia_x=-0,75_y=-0,14.jpg
  • Looks perfectly flat to me. What makes you think otherwise?

  • Pretty sure it shows a 'stack' of 2D Julia set representations, so yes the top surface is a horizontal plane.

I think it looks non-flat because the whorls resemble slightly distorted ellipses, which you perceive as circles slightly tilted or curved with respect to the top plane/each other.

  • Screen's flat so everything on it is.

  • Only one of my eyes works properly so everything is actually flat.
