I have asbestos sheets on the ceiling of my garage. The garage is part of the house, above it is the main bathroom.
After many years of looking the other way I'm probably going to pay a dude to take away the asbestos. Apparently the whole garage is going to get a vacuum as part of the process which will upset a lot of spiders. I'll be left with exposed joists and probably a bunch of cables hanging down.
What should I replace the panels with? I don't really want a finished, plastered ceiling but I could put plasterboard up. Is there something better?
How about OSB or Ply? That way in future you can screw fixings straight into it for hanging stuff without having to locate joists (avoiding cables obvs, and nothing too heavy, just more than you could put straight into plasterboard). Might be easier to raise than plasterboard too.
