yeas, I thought that. the cxp12 will be deeper. I would really like some 33mm deep carbon rims on Tune Mig Mag hubs or similar but rather too cash strapped at the moment

did Serotta ever make a seatpost to match that stem?
-
• #2831
I’ve never gotten a seat post to make anything, they essentially have no imagination.
-
• #2832
There are, IIRC, Serotta posts, but they are rocking horse shit.

Is this the one that’s potentially for sale? I’ve always 👀👀 ogled over it - especially since the repaint and build. Top notch.

I don’t think that DA groupset works very well on MGOOF builds. The chainset unbalances everything with its heft and shininess.
The Serotta would look a lot better on a Campagnolo groupset IMO.

There’s always going to be a compromise when you bias for usability, and that’s one of them.
This bike is very much not for sale- the re-fresh frankly ran away from me a bit in terms of cost, what you are looking at is £4,000 of frame building, paint and components. On top of the original purchase price, to be clear.

I sent the seller a message yesterday- I have one of those saddles and don’t need another, but would buy the post without it. No response so far.

Terrible pic, but looks great. Do you still have it?

Quill stem, 26 bars and seatpost combo for a colourful neo retro build. Id like to use a cinelli stem ideally....but suggest some options. What have I not thought of?
-

There as some nice 3T 26mm options, not too pricey https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192131761801

What weight could I expect to achieve with say a 60cm slx frameset, ultegra / dura ace groupset, mid weight aluminium rims and tyres?
Is 9kg achievable?
-
• #2847
If the wheels are around 1500g and you don’t use heavy saddle, stem, bars, etc then it is possible to get a 60cm low 9kg.
-
• #2848
My 58cm, 853 Donohue was sub 9kg with a similar build, a shade over with the original steel fork though.

I offered $300 for the seat post without saddle and the guy turned me down because he doesn’t ship internationally- unsure if that $ would be acceptable if I was in the US.
Would any US based forum member be willing to help me out on this purchase?
pretty light yes. Will give it a weigh upon my return to work on the weighing pallet truck, to see how many lbs the upgrade has shed.
