Got this old very used Tissot Seastar, not running atm, like to have it as an everyday watch as most/all scratches and wear from my grandad. What’s the best value/cheapest place to get it running again? Don’t need polishing etc just going.

I really fancy trying a Speedmaster Pro - is £2750 a good price for a 2015 used (great condition) one? It's the one that came with a huge box. Bracelet is almost unused.

Does anyone know the full list of “XXXXXmasters” that Omega made/makes?
Speedmaster, Railmaster, Seamaster, Globemaster- what else is there?

Flightmaster as well (I’d quite like one of these).

Sports persuit are clearing these out cheap at the moment with gps mapping enabled. Looks decent for the outdoorsy type

Was given my grandad's watch, think it's from the early 50s. Lived on my mum's bedside table for years. Gave it a wind and it's keeping time very well. I've never owned anything "nice" before. If it seems to be running well, is there any need to have it serviced? Would be good to know if it's waterproof etc.

If you want to wear it daily then yeah, I'd say service is a first thing to do. Then you need to think if you want an authorised Rolex service centre or not - Rolex is known to replace parts which you might not necessarily want to get replaced. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along shortly.
It looks great on your wrist by the way. The correct width strap would look even better ;-)

I can't wear it at work (smashy warehouse where my current watch takes a battering) but I'd love to wear it in the evenings and on weekends. Judging by older posts on this thread it sounds like it's a lot more expensive to get Rolex to service it, compared to a independent service centre/watch shop.
Thanks! It's very nice to wear. Yeah I'll try and get a new strap when shops open again, this one is quite narrow.

@sorethroat magnificient watch, looks like a 50’s Oyster Perpetual, love the 3/6/9 dial, timeless design.. is it 36mm or 34 ?
Crisp condition for it’s age. Even if it keep good time, it worth it to give it a service. Make sure everything’s is correctly oiled, and have it pressure tested.
With new gaskets it will probably be waterproof, good enough for everyday hands wash etc, but you should avoid shower and long bath IMO
It’s important to have it serviced by a trusted independant watchmaker

Alsal https://www.alsalwatches.com/ is where I've been a few times and others on here use it too. They'll give you an honest appraisal.

It's super nice, I love how simple it is. Hmm I think it's maybe 34mm but I haven't measured. It has a very slight rattling noise but I assume that's the perpetual part of it.
Ok cool, I'll look into getting it serviced. It'd be peace of mind at the very least. I'm sure there's bound to be somewhere decent in Berlin. I'll ask around :) -

Yeah, I guess. I don't think I like it that much though. Really want a Speedmaster Pro now.

Feel like I've got a fragile piece of porcelain on my wrist. Keep having to check it's still there.
