I found the quote again a year or so ago, but I can't remember why I'd remembered it, or why I was looking for it again.
I think I was probably checking to see if I'd made any terrible predictions about him.

You redeemed yourself not too long after though, with:
"I'm just going to say that I think Harry Kane looks like a proper player. I thought he was an absolute lump and no good at all. But I take that back"
That was still before Ron's comment.

Fair enough - I think at that time it wasn’t such a shocking take. I had a quick look back and think I was pretty bullish on Kane (maybe said world class 🤢). That being said I really thought he was on the decline last season - too many games and being rushed back from injury.

Can I continue making football thread patrons happy/unhappy by saying that the West Brom board did a fine job getting rid of Bilic and getting Big Sam in there to shore up the defence and really solidify their premiership status.
Good bit of business.

It'll get snowed off now, just you watch.

Big Sam couldn’t get COVID to stop the league so he’s prayed to the weather gods?

I mean, it’s not like any of the fans thought / still think it was a good idea.
You’re preaching to the converted.

Better get the groundsman to turn off the under pitch heating, sharpish.

Did you keep your receipt for Allardyce? There’s usually an extended returns period after Christmas and yours looks faulty.
Ajayi is having a stinker.
-
• #155187
He's really worked his magic on the West Brom defence, hasn't he?
-
• #155188
I don’t think so.
He’ll leave after flashing £10 in the transfer window, realising he’s got no chance.
No way he’ll be manager come relegation. Got to keep that record in tact.

At least you won’t have the indignity of having to play Derby next season...
-
• #155190
Haha! Depends if we take our momentum into the playoffs or we wet the bed at Wembley again 😂
(Trying to stay optimistic for 2021).

That’s Wayne Rooney's Derby to you...

Looks like Burnley has been taken over by Mormons

Will any club have the balls to suspend players for COVID breaches, because they fucking ought to?
-
• #155194
Unfortunately the precedent seems to have already been set by managers continuing to pick their “best” players despite them breaching COVID rules.
Maybe the authorities could slap a points deduction (1 point per match played with a player who has breached the rules) to teams, including retrospectively and this will give players and managers more to think about before they go off living their best life.
I know it won’t happen.

1 point per match played with a player who has breached the rules
That would leave Spurs on negative points

Want some vinegar with that?

Lampard has spent loads of money on shit hasn’t he?
Back to the championship pal.

There's a bright young English manager currently running away with the Scottish Premiership who might suit Chelsea better.

Frank walking a fine line now. i'd rather he is given the season but Roman has sacked more experienced men.

It's not sending the best message of "in it together".
Of course, we all now know that Sherwood is in fact a managerial genius.
