Yeah think I'm gonna go for it too.

I took mine to an old guy in Lewisham, came back like new. Must be 9 years old now, I've replaced a few bits myself too, it's basically Triggers broom now.

This is advice that you would 100% not follow if it was your house.

I reckon I could fix it.

Any ideas what could be causing this damp patch?
It's on the top stairway heading up to the attic (which was converted into an office before we bought it)
It first appeared a few months ago and hasn't got any bigger (in fact it starts to recede a bit when it's dry & warm..)Anyone else had anything similar??

Any have any first hand experience with lusso stone shower taps?
Started to buy gubbins for the bathroom.
Sauna is back on. -

What's on the other side of the wall?
-
• #40834
We have a kitchen tap from them, which has been uneventful, which is praise I guess, but only ~1year old.
Heavily considered their white taps when we did our bathroom, but ultimately decided they'd probably end up looking shit fast.

If someone else had asked that question my reply would have been identical to yours.
The white would be a brave choice for sure. My wife hates bronze so going black, like everyone. -

Go chrome. Then when you clean the bathroom you can marvel at the dazzle

I worry black is the new avocado when it comes to bathrooms.

Totally.

• #40839
Yeah probably to be fair.

End of an era.

Do you have to have an extractor fan in a bathroom with a website? Bathroom has no issue with damp at the moment. Builder says we need one in there but it's quite pricey when you factor in the electrics.

At a guess, regs say new builds and new installations require active extraction.
Personally I’d put one in because a window lets in loads of shitty cold air cooling everything around it and this helps moisture to condense on surfaces rather than drift away.

I WhatsApp you. Have you changed your number?

New work phone innit!

Whilst opening a window can let the steam out, depending on the wind direction, it can just as easily push the steam through the bathroom door into the rest of the house.
A fan is highly likely to always overcome any air pressure differential and extract the steam outside whatever the weather.

Lies! I genuinely love 60s and 70s fireplaces, even those ones that look like they've come from a Flintstones set. I really wanted a vintage fireplace we could keep, unfortunately as you know ours doesn't have anything like that. In fact we're thinking about putting an electric fire in, but modern not 70s.

Sauna is back on.
yay

I hate bronze too. Brass? Copper? White (surely they'd hide the limescale @giles337)?

think I've posted about this before but the black finish on the hose has tarnished on our lusso stone black (where the hose seats in its little holder) . this was after about a month of use - the black's almost fully gone now. I'm used to it and it doesn't bother me but something to consider. lusso were really good about replacing it, after providing pictures... though I've not got round to installing the replacement yet. (it will inevitably just abrade anyway)
rest of the suite has been fine (incl. sink tap, shower head etc).

Like anodised black rims... brkless is the only solution.
Sure there are third parties who will refurbish Dysons?
