  • Bad grammar on my part... I didn't have all 3 big Buxtons in one night, thankfully my days of thinking I was invincible are well behind me.

  • In my happy place

  • Bring out the Imp
Imperial stout, not had one for a year or so.

Either I have acclimatised to strong beers or this has mellowed overtime, as it is very smooth, lost all the licorice I remember it having and doesn't drink like a 10%er
    Tasty/10

  • Grabbed this from local bottle shop today. £10.10 for a can. Crazy money but it sounds amazing.

  • Might as well jump on the barrel aged bandwagon now I’ve been given this as a gift.

Two litres to get through today before I start dry January. I’ve always enjoyed the regular version so doubt it’ll pose much of a challenge.

  • Amazing! I've coveted the 2l bottles but always stop at 750ml.

D'ya have plans for the empty bottle?

  • I’ll probably use it for fruit gin or something.

On my first glass and it’s very easy drinking but I’ve probably got it too cold. It was outside but now in the house.

  • This was enjoyable

  • See you on the other side...

  • Do want.

  • Big boy Tripel K going down a treat.
Storm Shadow stout up next them the dessert stouts to send me off to sleep before the fucking fireworks wake me up and annoy my dog..

  • Their Chocolate and Vanilla stout is one of the best beers I've ever had.

    Unfortunately really hard to find.

  • Woof!

Keen on it from the label alone but the description is even more amazing, I've just bought a bottle on the strength of it.

  • A few lined up for tonight (though I won't be able to drink all of them).

The 2017 Orval is definitely getting drunk, bit of a NY tradition now.

The Yadokai, technically, needs drinking this year according to the BBE but I might wait until next year when I can hopefully open it at the club hut in the Lake District.

  • Good to hear.

I got these 9.2%ers dropped on me. Not made any progress to other beers yet. #firstworldproblems

  • A very pedestrian selection by this threads standards.

Annoyingly I’ve had a single beer with dinner and now I’m too full to get pissed/drink more. Getting old is shit.

  • Not by my standards! That’s an ideal haul. Enjoy

  • Tegernsee is God tier imo

  • Had a Marston's Horninglow No.2 imperial stout with lunch, and really enjoyed it. No pastry stout gimmicks*, just a big stout† with the dial turned up.

*Not that I dislike a good pastry stout; just that they seem to have become ubiquitous.
†By modern standards, I suppose 7.5% is merely a medium stout... (Though that may have gone up slightly as the bottle conditioned.)

  • Any tips for a brewery in south that will deliver towards Norbury way? Trying to avoid courier/posting where poss!
