Do I have to rename this thread 'Carry on gravelling' now?

Except if it's a MTB, then you want to drop those chunky 27.5 tires and 140mm travel and get a downcountry rig with 29 and 120.
Eventually everything will converge in some short of unsatisfying do it all thing the same way road bikes did. -

Been cycling two years now on 29 2.2 tyres and I really enjoy them. They just keep on rolling and are so comfortabele. The time people thought 28mm tyres would slow you down is gone and bikes will keep on getting bigger tyres.

if only they were brave enough to make the "penny penny"
(bike designers, i own copyright to this name and demand 5% royalties which is accepted on use of this name)

Surely it'd be the tuppence, or the 2xPenny if you're feeling full Radavist.

The only people riding 650b are small people
I'm going to take that as a compliment even though it obviously isn't.

Both are what I'm riding right now. LOLz
I guess I will have to consider my usage "retro" and I'll make a fortune when it's "vintage".

Same with one of my buddies that I ride most of my gravel stuff with. He takes that thing anywhere from technical single-track to fire roads and sand and longer road stretches, loaded and not loaded. sometimes he swaps for road wheels to do a group ride and he's flying also. Calls his bike "a perfect blend". Only avoids the super harsh enduro and downhill lines.

nice one. My mate is an awesome roadie but was frankly a distinctly average MTB'er on his old 26" Rockhopper but chuck him on his new bike and he's now buzzing my rear tyre on the descents and cos I'm still on 26" is dropping me like a stone on the climbs

I think you're actually ahead of the curve for 2041 when we'll have banned all cars and can just ride on roads like normal people

All this talk of wide bars has got me excited. I think I might go crazy and get some 44s
