  • I have a an older vagabond as well - when they did the white frameset. Either 2017 or 2018 and it definitely doesn't have a replaceable hanger.. Unless you completely mangle the hanger they are pretty easy to straighten if bent.

  • I seem to go through phases where I routinely bend hangers on the mountain bike. A replaceable hanger just seems like a good idea for bikes that will probably venture off road.

    Good to hear that they can be straightened out though.

  • I think they started using replaceable hangers when aluminium became a common frame material, because you risk breaking an aluminium hanger if you try to bend it back because the material work hardens .

    Unless you’re going to ride the same trails on your gravel bike as you do on your mtb, you’re probably fine.
