Somehow missed this at the time... looks awesome!
Anything more to report? -
• #503
Nope, had no time whatsoever.
Hopefully I can make progress between Xmas and NY...
Still some parts to order, polish, adapt... -
• #504
How are you going to shift gears on this?
-
• #505
Yes, 1990s Deore DX front and rear derailleurs in silver, Shimano bar end shifters (for which I'm not sure yet if I run the outer only along the bottom part of the drops or all the way up)

This project is going so fast! Brake pads have arrived yesterday! Woohoo!

For the Frogglegs?
-
• #510
Yes, seems to fit. Any reason this wouldn't work? There's a "silver with a bit of black" thing going on across the components so far.
-
• #511
Not at all. I think it will be great. Personally I would have gotten original Kool Stop Salmon ones. But you will have much more control of your toe in on the TRP pads...
-
• #512
Yes that looks much better (are salmon colored ok on ceramic rims?)... But I'm keen to have easy adjustment, I don't have much patience with these things...
-
• #513
Probably not. Braking is overrated anyways. That's why you went with cantis remember?
-
• #514
Yes, that and plastic bikes
-
• #515
They make green ones for ceramic rims I think, not that it matters now that you've got the TRP ones.
-
• #516
My (green) pads are actually kool stop, but the holders TRP. I wanted adjustable holders for convenience, but what's posted above would indeed look nicer...

Finished polishing the Sram Rival crankset (not to perfection, but to a level I'm happy with)

Nice

Nice n shiny. Carry on with the fine work.

• #520
That looks great!
It's also an extra nudge to persuade me to do mine. -
• #521
That looks really fit!
Wouldn't mind seeing a polished spider as well, but loving the black on silver look. -
• #522
I haven't considered this as it would be quite a lot of work given the complex shape... Not enough time or patience...
-
• #523
Derailleur wise, front and back aren't exact matches, I couldn't find a DX front that was top pull (don't even know if they did it, could only find pictures of the bottom pull).
My hope is that it will work ok with the silver/black cranks...

Wrong attitude for this forum. Aesthetics is always greater than functionality!
