ok people. Decision time. Garish Raspberry/pink bar tape that offsets the lilac 753 sticker nicely, or classic black perforated bar tape. What's your opinions?

Black looks better, maybe get some freaky anodized bar plugs to compensate for the lack of color?

Yep ;)

It didn’t ride badly enough already?

Can it get any more worse?

+1 for Raspberry.

That's lovely. Black tape is nice, though not that fizik one, my worst enemy. Wasn't it cinelli that made that funky black tape with disco holes?

just finished this bike. will be a gift for a friend who helped me a lot recently and rides an absolute piece of shit. couldn't stand it.
took the trekking bars and the trekking suspension off, put on a rigid fork and the drops, sourced a pair of rsx shifters (the wheels will only take a 7sp cassette), new tires, mini-v brakes and voila.
i hope it gets the @vp1337 seal of approval.. (sorry, don't have a 'before' pic) :)

I thought it was the L96 that only went left

Trying to get a disc break and fatter tyres onto my pre cursa.
Currently thinking
Surly straggler fork
Slx lever
105 caliper
A rotor(?)I’m not really up to date on disc hub tech- but I think I need something without a thru axle?
Is there a really obvious decent quality disc front wheel? I’m a bit out my depth!
The rub....
I have a Blb frontier rack -This has been the single most useful addition to my bike so need to make sure it all works together.
Any alternative suggestions? If I got a thru axle fork, are there thru axle front rack adapters? Help!

There are solutions to mounting racks like that on disc hubs but if you're buying a straggler fork, I believe it has mid fork mounts so you could get a different rack which mounts there.
It should be lighter and stiffer with shorter stays than mounting on the axles.

Can’t see any mid fork mounts on the straggler... also- now I look, seems like they are all out of stock anyway.

This is great - excellent stuff

just finished a 1930's build
It was a lockdown ebay impulse purchase - here's the 'before' pic

Can confirm Straggler forks do have mid mounts, a Sepcialized Pizza rack or any of the Surly racks would work.
I've ran 28c on my PC and it just about clears with the rear axle pretty far back.

Also, why SLX lever x 105 caliper?
Wish I'd known about your lock ring before I shelled out for a Paul for my belt drive track bike. The width of the teeth on a Gates CDX cog makes using most track lock rings impossible; I picked the Paul because it's the thickest one I could find, but it's still not a perfect solution.
