What about the C13? Twice the money for what? Just lighter? Still looks roughly the shape of a C15.
There are 3 widths C13s, the carbon adds some dampening apparently. I’m happy with mine in the medium width, FWIW.

Yeah, definitely tightened it. I tried doing that once after a few beers and got myself in a right muddle about which way to twist the bolt 😅

I like my C17 on my road bike, but on my Vagabond it feels like it's grazing the inside of my thighs sometimes, is the C15 the next logical one to try, or alternatively has anyone ever tried lacing a cambium to make just the central section a bit narrower?

An update to my broken c17 all weather backplate, I got an email from Brooks today and they are sending me an aluminium plate from a gen1 saddle free of charge which I’m especially happy about since I was not the original purchaser of the saddle and didn’t expect any sort of warranty cover.

Such a weird thing that it squeaks there! The sides of the nose rubbing on the rails under load?
-
• #408
That was what I figured.
I initially thought that it was more likely to be where the rails mount in the rear plate or either the front or rear metal pieces on the rubber top but greasing those areas made little difference.

This represents the solution to my beef with Brooks saddles

The cutaway?

Any tips for how to remove the screw that holds the nose of the rails in place on a Cambium C15 when it just spins endlessly.
I can only assume that either the thread is stripped (from new?!) or that there's a captive nut on the other side of the plate that is no longer captive...

Edit: misunderstood which bolt you meant; don't know, sorry.
-
• #413
Pretty sure its the plate that's threaded.
Has it undone at all? Think mine undo so far then get kind of trapped by the tension, have to push the metal bit back up and then it'll release.
-
• #414
No, won't undo at all just spins, I've tried using the metal plate as leverage but can't find anything thin enough to fit in the gap as it's still tight.
A bit stumped as there's no access to the other side at all, drilling it out might be the only solution.

• #415
Yeah the bolt that goes through the top is hidden under the bit that comes out innit?
What you needing the rails off for?
Given that the ‘rivets’ are the only bit that’s really available to buy then maybe actually drilling it out from the top would be a good idea? If you want then I could whip one of mine apart tomorrow and check if it’s a thread in the nose piece or a captive nut.

Need to remove the rails as one is bent, but the top is fine. I have a replacement pair of rails from an inversely crash-trashed saddle a friend gave me when he ruined the top but his rails were ok.

• #417
Ah ok.
I forgot to look at one of mine today sorry. I'll likely be out in the garage tomorrow and could have a look though.

• #418
Ta, be great if you have the time but don’t go out of your way to check!

• #419
Bad news, it’s part of the upper.

curses and naughty words
That’s ‘unfortunate’ for me, thanks for checking!

Try giving Brooks a shout. They sorted me out and I was open with them about not being the original purchaser.

Bought a c15 carved but just didn't get on with it. Too much flex for me, my arse is too used to a unpadded SMP. Anyone fancy it for a fair price. Bought new off wiggles ridden a couple of times. £60?

• #423
Is it the all weather/all black version? If so, dibs.
-
• #424
Yep all black rubber thing, I'll grab a picture.
Woah! Nice to see, Phil. An early effort, think I got a bit better at defining the stamps with a shoe last supporting.
That Swift has kept its shape well (they often flatten out weirdly), did you add tension over time? Many don’t bother...
