I don't suppose one of the jockey wheels on this shagged shimano STX rear derailleur is meant to move 2-3 mm laterally within the hanger is it?
You can get away with some play, but 3mm is too much I think. If the bolts are snug and it shifts properly, I’d say it’s fine unless the customer prefers to change it.
