Yes, black or silver?
You need L type, the rear you can bolt onto the rack though so no need for stays, just trim down a touch

Any idea the age of this? I’m thinking it’s 2007 or 2008. Will be selling as I bought the missus a new flame lacquer as a Christmas surprise (and after a few days she’s decided that, yes, she is keeping the new one despite loving this old one and still riding it... but sees no point having yet another bike in the shed that’s not ridden as much!)

Actually it may be older still. The frame number is 207349 so it could be as old as 96 perhaps? We bought it second hand about 12 years ago and it was an old bike then... so that might make more sense. Found a picture of old frame numbers and build dates from a book

That could be true but I thought the serial numbers from before a certain date do not correspond to dates in this way? I could have made that up though.

There’s a list in the old Brompton book that lists the years corresponding to the old serial numbers. I used to have a copy but left it at a place I was working at about 10 years ago. @R.hobbs ?

It’s newer than 2004 because you can see the newer style lwb frame!

The frame, handlebars, seat post, brake levers, wheels, crankset are all as when we bought it. I fitted a new rear mudguard probably about 6 years ago when the first one was too cracked. Pedals and a few other bits I can’t remember have been replaced over the years. It’s still solid, the brakes are just a little soft and there’s a bit of rust to the seatpost sleeve. I’d personally keep it but the wife doesn’t like keeping things that aren’t gonna be used for the next couple of years.

L type - great.
Black if possible?

Yes but I deleted the photo as thought better of putting a bicycle serial number online just in case! You’re bang on though, serial number starts 0503

Me and the Spouse are about to take the new flame lacquer out for it’s first spin with my black lacquer. I’m excited! If you’re about in Chiswick in the next hour ding ya bell!
