hmm is this the first film in your leica? I had a similar issue, it was the ratchet/gear mechanism issue, Aperture sorted it for £50

Ive never had that issue in my M6 and always got slight more exposures out a roll than expected most times too. Going by how easy Leicas are to fix hopefully it doesn't cost you a lot.

Developed a roll of hp5 @1600 tonight. Results look okay from what I can see so far...
When winding the film on however towards the end it for really tight. Is there something I've done wrong when loading the camera as these last few have unsurprisingly come out blank...
