How was it? The last bottle of 2001 I drank had died a little in the bottle, losing some of its lustre. Yesterday’s was excellent. 19 years is a roll of the dice for the complex chemistry of the phenols. The Wine Society has more recent vintages on offer, which are a bit more reliable, with more fruit in evidence, but still very good.
I'll be having a Musar 2001, decanted for two hours for Christmas lunch.
