I did five miles with a kid on a tandem for a near sunrise cruise around the city. He is eight, said his feet 'hurt 80' which I think is quite a lot.

He wore his school shoes rather than meshy trainers. They would probably have been worth an extra 20

Snagged another 25k as the day gave way to night.

Writing this as I wait for a rescue. Crank unwound itself somehow. 40 miles into a 60 mile ride. I’m now about 80 miles behind schedule and with storm force winds tonight I’m calling it done. I’ll still get out as much as poss though.
