Festive 500 Scotland Style.
The dump of snow last night made for a great ride even if it didn’t prioritise knocking out the kilometers.

That looks like a great ride.
I managed 75k off road and am going to add to the flooded ride photos:

Feel like I was cheating today, but it was pretty cold for Los Angeles standards. Between 4° and 15°. 115km / 1750m. Planning to try and do 7500m in my 500km.

would have needed a super early start to get back in time for festivities today and it was hella frosty again, so... first ever zwift ride. no idea what I'm doing on it tbh... think 500k of that would be brutal though (especially on a dumb fluid trainer)

200km done.
Tier 4 audaxing in london is shitAgreed. I tried a 200km loop of Greater London to stay in tier 4. Some short sections had OK lanes, but mainly just really nasty drivers close passing throughout. Unlike anything I've experienced and really draining. Will not be doing that again.
Bailed at 120km, and rode 40 km home directly.
Here is the rwgps if anyone is interested, in the unlikely event that anyone wants to ride it, it needs editing.

At least you got to experience the newly resurfaced section of Breakspear Road South,
(from the Breakspear Arms to the Chiltern Line bridge).
Previously an almost unrideable section of potholes, transverse ruts, inadequate patch repairs and poor to non-existent drainage. -

I think about 5 miles either side of the M25 they are the worst. Real eggy bastards

• #2586
sadly I did not, I only made it anti-clockwise to just above Ilford.

Another mighty 10k today. Got a PR on a descent though, and had some mince-pies.

Wanted to do half of the Festive offroad/gravel but everything is under water. Deep puddles and mud drained all the fun. And to top it off I dropped my bike while cleaning and broke the hanger, with no spare on hand.
So much for the Festive. Might just abandon it this year. (Or maybe on Zwift) -

slow and steady wins the DNF

Please pardon my miscomprehension.
You'll have the pleasure of the re-surfaced BRS the next time you venture westwards. -

I’m up to 153km, tomorrow looks like good weather so should get in another 100kms. Sunday sounds like it’s going to be a hurricane on south coast so might give that a miss.

Ha , we did the “ Monopoly “ ride with friends .... quite a nice ride around Old London Town .... ‘kin freezing though - and only one stop South of the river ....

Grey skies, dry and 5-10 degrees round my way tomorrow, going to go for 100km.
The biggest problem for me with this arbitrary distance challenge is that it’s made me stress about numbers again, having escaped the tyranny of data a few years ago. I think my Garmin started reading slow since it’s been in the cupboard.

Almost a mighty 12km for me today dropping presents on doorsteps

My teachers said the same about me.

That looks fucking horrid, I wouldn’t brave that ice. Good work.
Bun run with a couple of RP laps. No floods that way and cursed myself for not bringing sunglasses. Sunny but constantly cold though.
147km in the bag, let's see if the knees hold up and the weather doesnt take a turn for the worse
