A third of the way through my RRTY attempt after my ride yesterday. Ended up doing a DIY of the London Boroughs Spiral as discussed elsewhere and it was good fun. The wind sucked and the traffic was crap at some sections but it was pretty warm most of the day and was quite the moral boost when I went through places I knew, though when I passed near to my flat when I was 145km I did start to think how easy it would be to sack it in.
Definitely not the best year to have joined AUK but who doesn’t love an added challenge. Been able to get two calendar events Four Minute Mile in September and Cambridge Autumnal in October then DIYs in November and December. All fixed at this point and I don’t have a bike with gears or freewheel so will probably stay that way. Glad that I’m getting the winter rides out of the way first so hopefully the Summer brings a bit more joy when it starts to get a bit grim at the back end of the challenge.
