This guy Fernando on Gumtree (in Whitechapel) was selling my mate's Planet X Pro Carbon which was stolen a couple of days ago. He's got quite a few other bikes on there worth looking at if you're hunting something that's been nicked in east.

Found the Boardman bike mentioned above for sale on FB Marketplace.
What is the current forum-approved procedure of getting it back? Show up with muscle/police, ask for a test-ride and ride off with it, or just standard buy it back?

A friend in East London suffered the theft of two bamboo bikes recently, please keep an eye out as they're very distinctive. Please contact Patrik through the 'gram if you see/hear anything.

Anyone seen or heard anyone reporting a Ridley Aero Road bike with full Dura Ace, all black with white Ridley text stolen? I saw a very young kid riding it in Brixton earlier today, grabbing some essentials from the off-license in a black plastic bag. Didn't fit him or wearing the shoes to go with the pedals either.

This week chased two sets of young kids off our street, trying doors (and more often than not getting inside buildings because no door in this city shuts right lol), again today, caught two of them dragging a bike out of a flat door, builders from other side of street helped put the fear into them.
So will expect them back next week!
Just have been 8 years old, wonder what their incentive is, as it won't be money at that age surely. -

as it won't be money at that age surely.
In a society like ours why wouldn't it be about money (or things their families can't afford)?

Tbf could be lack of supervision (for whatever reason) or positive things to do.
Probably about money though.

A nurse mate of mine had her bike nicked from outside University College Hospital while she was working a 13 hour shift. Classy move nicking nurses bikes.
Here's her description:
"My lovely dream machine was a Specialized vita comp, small women's, carbon forks, dark Maroon in colour, black pannier rack on rear, new LED lights, silver bell on right hand side."If anyone sees it please shout and, more realistically, can anyone help source a replacement bike for her?
There's a few of us willing to chip in but if anyone has anything for sale or could offer a discount she could do with having her faith in humanity restored. It's her birthday today
Cheers -

have heard that kids are starting much younger than ever, parents struggling, kids see olders go out and earn cash...

Yeah guess it has to be.
I'm originally from a very low income area, low population density but theft was super low, in cities its naturally higher as there more opportunity to acquire and move on, but never ceases to surprise me.
Having spotted thiefs, researched and/or followed them, the ones I've tracked down don't lead a life where theft is a necessity to get by. Obv just a handful of examples that I've witnessed, but still those kids were well dressed, clean, just sad that this is the path they've been put on -

She's about 5'2 so small, and maybe £500

Thanks Oliver - I'd forgotten about that - I've sent it on...
TBH, it may well be nicked but also I don't think IronHorse have made FS bikes since they went under years ago; they're a budget brand now.
