Good luck to the father in law. We’re in the same position as you, my dads 94, had a fall in the shower two weeks ago and spent a night in hospital, tested negative on his release. We’ve been looking after him twice a week since March and keeping ourselves to ourselves for the most part, tough with three grandkids. Apart from my son and his one year old we’ve all managed to stay COVID free. Fingers crossed for you.

Thank you all for all the kind words and advice regarding my partner's father - that's what this place is good at.
By way of an update, he is a little better today and has been persuaded to go to the hospital, but I doubt he will be admitted. My girl bought him a nebulizer - I have no idea whether it will work, but you do what you can... We also found out that he fallen in the bathroom last week, smashed a mirror and cut his foot. He managed to walk to A&E and had stitches! She's arranged for these to be removed by his GP. Ongoing, she will be treating this as an exception to the usual "meeting up" rules as pointed out by @Jonny69 and taking all possible precautions.

I'm flattered, but between us we have six children between the ages of 16 and 31, I'm asthmatic and she has had rheumatoid arthritis for most of her adult life! It's all good though :)
