Yeah, but you have to go inside to be able to pay/access the course.
-
• #18878
So it seems like it's shut, if you want to pay, but it is possible to access the trail? I see people have logged rides there on Trailforks...
Maybe another one to give a miss until craziness is over. I could ride out there too...

a lot, but not all of it is accessible from the park - i think all the bits on the north side of the a12 are not behind gates. wether security guards will chase you off or not is a different question.
if they do then nearby there's a weird pump thing at draper's Fields recreation ground, a skatepark at Cann Hall Park and the Hackney pump track isn't too far to ride too

I've never been there, sounds like finding my way around is going to be pretty challenging. Maybe I should stick to the pump tracks.
-
• #18881
The loop takes about 20 mins, and I'm sure a quick Google will show you the GPS route. It starts at the rear of the velodrome.
If you're really worried about getting lost though maybe the pump track is best. 😉

• #18882
Sounds like you have to hop gates and fences?
-
• #18883
If they’ve fenced it all off, yea.
Otherwise you can join it opposite the houses at the east end of the velodrome car park, just down from the BMX track.

The bit ringed in red is behind a fence. as far as I remember everything else is accessible.
if you enjoy it and they don't kick you off then buy a gift voucher by way of a donation

a skatepark at Cann Hall Park
Nope. It partially set on fire and they’ve ripped it out. They’re replacing it with a concrete skatepark at the front edge of the park, but that’s a work in progress.

ah damn! It's been a while since I lived out that way. Was a brilliant skatepark too, one of the best in London imo. That mini was perfect

I really want to ride the trail bike tomorrow, it's been way too long. Best option I guess would be Surrey Hills?
-
• #18888
Probably. Just pack a snorkel.

Swinley was plenty ridable this time last week.
And you've got a Swinley specific bike
-
• #18890
Not sure a 150mm forked hard tail is Swinley specific, but it’s certainly more suitable for Swinley than the full boing.

I have some time to ride tomorrow morning, but not enough to get out of London - so jump bike/pump track it is. Which one should I go to?
-
• #18895
I think you should incorporate some urban freestyle into your training programme, so don a hoody and hang around the local shopping centre for a couple of hours with a can of Stella

Hey get off my Christmas thread!
-
• #18897
Your Christmas thread is mostly about how much alcohol to give your 1yr old tomorrow, no?
-
• #18899
I’m not the best person to operate a can of Stella- I’ve probably forgotten how by now.
I’ll head to Brockwell I think in the absence of any other suggestions.

In that case, you'll be wanting this
I was hoping so as it's an outside sporting facility, although thinking about it I was planning on going on Christmas Day (first ever Christmas I won't be spending with my parents in 44 years), so it might be shut due to that. Maybe I'll head over on Christmas Eve.
