  • I would still like a G-Wagon. I admit, Airhead scared me off them though with his talk of never ending maintenance (and I'm speaking as me here).

  • It truly is 'The End of Times'.

  • Once you’ve bought your country pile and need something to get to the end of your driveway in deepest winter you’ll have all the excuse you need.

  • Surly a RR is the clear winner if you want a never-ending list of jobs to get everything working perfectly.

I watched that Harry s garage on his, and I've got to say that looking back on the original iteration of that gen with the non-mesh grill, it is a great design.

  • I did just get a (small) bump on my car allowance.

  • I think the common sense approach is to only lease Range Rovers.

  • @dammit could you use the 213 brake arm?
Looks to be offset in the other direction, see the photo I just took from my e class.

  • Now that is very interesting! Same throttle pedal as me, it appears.

    Thanks!

  • Yeah, I was cleaning it out the other day and noticed and, finally remembered to take a photo today...

Off up to BMW to trade it in for a 5 series later today...

  • I have ordered one, if the pivot dimensions are the same then we could have an OEM solution.

I think the pedal pad would need cutting off and repositioning, but that's significantly less invasive than cutting the actual pedal arm itself.

  • Out of interest, if you sit in the drivers seat with your right leg directly out in front of you which pedal does the ball of your foot line up over?

  • Yeah, that was what I was wondering. It migjt actually be stiffer if you moved it to where you wanted it.

  • Will have a look in a bit when I go out but am 90% sure it would line up with the brake, although perhaps a little to the rhs of the pedal.

  • Hah, let me guess - you've driven the car for 16 hours at a time and never a twinge?

  • I haven't attributed any discomfort on long drives to the pedal position but I do tend to use cruise on longer journeys ( to the alps for example) a fair bit

  • One more small task ticked off.

  • That looks great on those wheels and tyres!

  • Be glad to have a proper round steering wheel again...

  • Thanks - your pedals are much less offset than mine. I wonder if there was something with the conversion to RHD that was an issue for master cylinder placement on the S212?

Mind you, they could have used an offset pedal as yours does. Interesting anyway - thanks again.

  • Thanks, yeah the wheels sold it for me- big fan of mondials and even more so with some BFG tyres on. A lot of bang for buck

  • Yeah does look good on those wheels.

I worked on production at Solihull on these. Was there for the first, and last ones to come off the line /CSB

  • Were you there when they introduced the first Disco? I went on a family open day and they were taking people around the test track in them
