  • Have you considered considering your road position earlier? Read the road for potential hazards so you can manage them?

    The risk of clipping the curb while they pass too close and too fast has potentially disastrous results. Whereas moving into primary earlier gives the driver behind more time to respond and moderate their speed.

  • I fail to see how clipping the curb is more dangerous than getting hit from behind by a inattentive driver, but thanks for your input.

    either way, my point still stands - i hate those traffic islands

  • Totally agree those islands can present a difficulty, but can help vulnerable pedestrians.

    Clip the kerb while someone is passing too close and too fast with no room to take evasive action. What could possibly go wrong?
