Been gagging to get another winter bike for a while now... first thoughts were a Soma Wolverine and then a Brother Mehteh, then I saw the Rondo RUUT Al1 and that changed my mind again... oh, on the hole carbon frame front, if I had that money to spend I’d be thinking of titanium instead.

Unlike the UK, the roads are of sufficient quality to use 23mm tyres there, and some of the bikes I have there were indeed being raced pre-2003.

OK I will give you my experience.

I ride a "XL" Brother Stroma and "L" Genesis Fugio, see pics of 650b on L. I have also recently tried a Canyon Grail and deffo Large size.

Top of saddle to BB centre is 837mm.

Decathlon hiking/walking shorts seconded, they've lasted years of daily cycling with practically zero arse-wearout. Had new elastic after about 5 years I think.

Mezcal III 27.5 x 2.1 arrived and went straight up (no sealant) on the new WTB i25 wheel I had built.

Disappointing clearance. Isn't the tripster meant to take a 650 x 52mm? Did this just blow up huge because of the rim/the knobs/hippy vibes?

So long as the sidewall doesn't get rubbed through I'm hoping the knobs will rub some extra clearance into the fork. #winning

I mean, this spins but put some cornering forces into it and I'd be concerned about the sidewalls. It should fit easily on the back though.

52mm / 2" would probably just fit on the front. Any suggestions for 27.5 x 2 MTB tyre?

I haven't looked at it in ages so could be useless and it's definitely not complete. A mix of mtb, touring and gravel tyres I think.

Sure there will be a component of rim/hub/wheel/tyre lateral deflection when say, you get out of the saddle on a Spanish "25% gentle hill" on a loaded bike days in into one of your escapades. Make sure to try that before you find out too late and we have to hear about it from Twitter.

I've probably eyeballed most of those at some stage. They're often out of stock in the size I want to try. Definitely saw Black Mamba in 650x50 for about £25

You need a new bike

I legitimately really like my race kings in that size. They've well on a lot of mixed surface riding in the Peak District, commuting on road, weekender touring and a little bit of mud this winter. They were cheap too.
