But my experience of Nationwide has generally been excellent - bank and credit card. Their Visa offers a pretty notional cashback, but is still something.
Although it is sort of HSBC ime 1st Direct are good, and poll well. If you're willing to pay for it the private Lloydes accounts sound exceptional based on listening to my colleagues conversations with them. I have absolutely no idea how you go about getting one of those.
Although Coutts are the most obvious one, I think since being bought out they've tried to become a luxury product, so suspect the pricing just isn't worth it and is best used for braggin rights. That said I may be judgemental based on my old company's experience as a business customer after they changed their business model.
