The highly infectious variant of coronavirus that has emerged in
south-east England is spreading rapidly to the rest of the UK and is
already present elsewhere in the world, scientists warned on Sunday.
https://on.ft.com/3rawfhXI’d argue the general public would be more responsible if this was consistently reported as “…is being spread…” or something like that.

I'm not sure the general public are that sensitive to linguistic nuances.

I’m not so sure. Copywriting A–B tests suggest they/we are.
I think that’s a fundamental difference that reinforced over months could save lives.

anyone else waiting for a test result? the man in the tent by peckham library said it’d be 1-3 days and it has been 3 days now. when should i go ballistic?! only joking, just keen to hear of other people waiting for results.

Devils advocate:
I won't infect me so why should I care about anyone else. Remember the magical words loved ones will diePersonally, not sure if i care that much about something I directly do to harm myself, I'm more worried about infecting a freind or love one and causing their death as that would be my guilt. Am angry at cumming and Boris dad that make a mockery of the ideal lets stop this the best way we can. It gives people the get out, the they did it so why should I.
In my reality, people can't seem to wear a mask properly in this country nor keep distance or use hand sanitiser when provided...

It might be easier if Twitter just tells us when Boris isn’t lying.

Listing to radio 4 and hearing that Boris almost died from covid....I shout that is rubbish and my, of many examples, is Micheal Rosen. Great author, great person, leftie (anti semitic according to some) He almost died and is still not fully recovered and may never fully recover.
-

Maybe, but people recover from covid differently.
Michael Rosen is 18 years older for a start.
As far as I am aware, they were very close to putting Boris on a ventilator, and at that point statistically a very high chance of dying from covid.
I have friends who had to go into ICU with covid, and are fine now, and others who have caught it and not needed hospital care, but still having ongoing effects.

Grant Shapps smugly lying that there were only 174 trucks stuck on the m20 and it would all be sorted in the morning, nothing to worry about. Now 1500+ stuck there.

Very worrying thread about the uni tests that should probably be headline news. I had 2 last week, both negative, means absolutely nothing...

I would want the inspectors to look at the contact chains from those involved in catching bats, gathering guano and transportation to see if anywhere ‘upstream’ of the bio secure lab could be a weakness.

Schnapps was awful yesterday. His weird smirking glances during his performance across to Johnson were cringeworthy. And Johnson laughing at a few of the questions coming in was egregious, for me. I get it’s the weekend, but come on!

Schnapps is so far out his depth it’s untrue, have a look at his Wikipedia, he should be nowhere near cabinet.
This one is worse. (Edit: the Union Jack bit, aswell as attempt to absolve the PM entirely - I agree folks should take responsibility too, just not solely).
