Lol indeed, don't know what he was thinking when he was at the rapha store getting those socks. When I started out cycling I was very guilty in my fashion choices. At least he didn't buy a black on black canyon ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Where socks over/under tights are concerned: I'd it depends on how snug the tights fit around your ankles.

Brown socks over black tights is a horrendous look.
I like the bike. He doesn’t deserve it.
