Huge race today!
No spoilers, but everyone should watch the races from Havere today. Proper gloop cyclocross.

Came here to post about this too.
Really looking forward to the rest of the season, particularly Namur next weekend! Hope WVA training in balmy Spain will make him a bit more competitive though, didn't impress in the past two weekends.

Does anyone call it "see ecks" out loud?
-
• #8481
Doesn't everyone call it "mucky time"?

a funny thing happened to me on the way back from today's race. my front thru axle worked itself out and fell onto the roof of my car near ramsbottom BUT my rear wiper managed to catch it.
merry Xmas 2020!

Lucky.
Reminds me of the time @gofasterstipes drove down to Hampshire to race, but left a thru axle in London.

Last years was an outstanding battle and Pidcock was on the podium (I think) until his saddle went. The new section to replace the "quick sand" stairs/drop looks just as treacherous .....

That was a lovely 3 hour drive ...I would have probably won that race too 🤥

How was the race for you? I was marginally better than last time and disappointed to see the finish flag - thought I had another lap left!

wasn't the course great? felt very balanced – i hope (ha 'hope' like the bike company who built it) they keep it like that. as such, i was a bit faster and more controlled. only managed 3 laps last week, but about 2.5 laps in it dawned on me i was going to have to get 4 in.
didn't fall off, which was either due to me dropping from 40psi to about 35 or greater familiarity with the course. but i was able to ride much more and at greater speed.
having said that, i still came right at the arse end of proceedings.

Obviously the important question here is how do you pronounce Colne?

You what?! That pressure on tubs? Jesus wept.

"cologne"

my tyre pumper thing doesn't have a very clear thingie idk

Yes, thought it was better with the bit through the woods, however I dropped the pressure to much in the rear so so the path through the woods is was rising in the rim!
I’m a ‘bit’ heavier than you and I would be running more like 25 psi in those conditions.I’m also at the back of the field but did ‘race’ a bit more this week even if it was for 48th place
Already booked in for the 28th - getting a bit bored of the drive now though especially the usual queues through Colne

Are you really heavier than me? I've capitalised on this year's lethal pandemic to hit 86kg
Also dismayed to find out the race is actually in Yorkshire and shall have to bleach my car tyres tomorrow.
-
• #8494
If you dont feel the rim a few times a lap, let some pressure out
-
• #8495
Similar then but I'm a foot shorter than you!
-
• #8496
this was riding on the rim all the way on any hardstanding and I couldn't remember if it was tubeless or had a latex tube in the rear. Would have been happier if I had the tubs on

Fantastic racing at Namur

Did you ‘race’ yesterday? Was a little muddy but enjoyed it and bike just about survived even though I had dropped the chain on the last lap at the stream crossing and had to run (walk) to the finish line

If anyone is looking for one of these it's a freebie. Came with a super x headset but i don't need it. Should be fine with other integrated headsets as well i guess

i did mate. I even put a 21t on the back but it seemed to make naff all difference! managed to overtake some lads towards the end though. Claggy wasn't it? I 'ran' the last bit as well but only cos riding it is essentially pointless.
I like the CX stuff. I wish JPOW would let the action fill the space when commentating. He's a bit "all the words! And heres the obligatory tyre and psi comment!"
