I was also thinking a lot of people at the time were blaming non-compliance / risky behaviour for the rates of infection in Kent... maybe not much truth in that.

I feel like people were looking for an explanation to the rates of infection and blaming it on behaviour since they didn't know about this more contagious strain.
It’s just hit me, maybe I’m slow. That if it was partly identified by Kent being worse after lockdown than before that we are really in a bit of trouble.
