Being on hold - of course no on enjoys it. What does my head in, is the "your call means a lot to us" clip that is inserted every 10 seconds. It makes the whole process so much more jarring. Just give me the awful music. I'm aware that I'm going to be waiting for a while, and repeating the same message over and over only serves to make the whole process even more infuriating.
Also, I get that I could do it online - but because the online equivalent clearly has about a quarter of the functionality available when compared to speaking to someone over the phone, it's not exactly that great an alternative!
