• I wonder if anyone else has had this.

Just bought a couple of WTB Byway tyres, basically the same as the Horizon but with a smidge of shoulder tread. First WTB tyres I have used but have plenty of experience with road and MTB tubeless.

I fitted them and put the requisite amount of Stans sealaant in, pumped them up and noticed that there were loads of little spots of sealant all around the side wall of the tyres.

So I gave them a good shake around, span them, all the normal stuff and left them overnight.

Next morning, both flat. So I put some more sealant in, pumped back up but still lots of new pimples of sealant appeared.

Anyone else had this with WTB tyres. Sure these will get sent back etc. but I don't want to get more if this is common, although it seems hard to beleive that a manufacturer like WTB would have this problem a lot.

  • Bit of an update.

Been googling and it seems this is fairly common with WTB tyres .

I will refill with Orange sealant and see if it is any better.

  • They're fine just take them for a little spin to get the sealant round them and you'll probably find they stay inflated

  • I will update this once I have seen how the orange sealant does.

  • I have a few pairs of WTB tires. Gumwalls may weep when not ridden. Just ride.
