  • Pillar drill on the left, vice in the middle and grinder on the right. it's the stuff of boyhood dreams

  • 18mm plywood topper?

  • Try the BMW forums BMWLand, Pistonheads BMW section. I don't really buy and sell them to be honest, 740i are usually a high spec model so should sell well if running well.

  • E9's are really sort after and many have rotted away so hold there money

  • @6pt not sure ? 750i were top of the range spec wise They were deemed the last of the decent 7 series, later models were shite and dogged with electrical problems so still popular among enthusiasts but that interior is proper minging :(

  • Ah, that goes some way to explaining it I guess.

    Still, it went for £20k!

  • Nice! Get the vice on it’s own steel pedestal, bolted to the floor mate. Gives you room for a flat surface on the workbench.

  • Still can't get over that interior. I mean what the fuck happened in there??

  • wonderful. wonder how much?

  • You'd have though that the least they would have done is cleaned the leather with or got the woolies kit to dye the leather.

  • Have had issues with duff new NGK (possibly fakes) but 3am could not sleep navel gazing. Over the years have used champion but reading up there are quite a few people who had a high failure rate. Then the berating of bosch spark plugs. normal single electrode. I liked the multiple electrodes as they lasted about 4 times longer than single electrode plug plugs.

Denso won, as the mk1 Mr2 ran better with the correct denso plugs over the incorrectly gapped ngk ;) But reality is what the factor had 4 Denso and only 4 ngk that looked like returns as the boxes were opened and had greasy finger marks.

  • I'm going with it is a shit colour and the wheels look too big so I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Reality is that I could not afford that so that is my excuse.

  • I prefer it in the original grey

  • GM seems to like his restomods.
I'm ambivalent I think but on a nice day these cars must be tickety boo.

  • Those Alfaholics are about £100k

  • Which is what a 911 with a few options costs..

  • Boring ford focus 1.6 zetec se (sigma) engine....tracing the water leak. These engines are different to the normal zetec, the difference is clear the normal zetec has the exhaust and the front while the Zetec SE has the inlet at the front. Also different to 1.6 zetec fitted to the sport/street KA, as that is an 8 valve.

Found that both the water pump and plastic thermostat housing show signs of a leaking. The waterpump also has noticeable play, enough you can feel but the bearing feel smooth. Yeah, I know that you shouldn't turn a new water pump, but this is old and shows signs of leaking so it is going to be replaced. The water pump doesn't run off the cambelt but once you get to the waterpump, the cambetlt is exposed so easy enough to lock the crank and cams and replace the belt and tensioner.

Old water pump doesn't have any manufacturers name on the pump, but there does seem to be an excess of black gasket goo. The old paper gasket does have a very thin line of sealant that the new gasket doesent. So am deciding if I should use a fine syringe and very lightly smear some instant gasket. If for nothing more to make sure the paper gasket says in place when I mount the pump. There can be an issue of the paper gasket either not seating correctly orbeing damaged and then causing a leak. The other zetec version has a totally different pump that is push fit and an o ring so no issues with paper gaskets.

Also to make this engine even more special, the water pump, depending on aircon or not, runs in different direction which depends on the impellers. So you have to make sure you have the right direction pump. Ended up with a drivetec pump that was made for andrew page motor factors. Seem odd to buy a water pump made for a company that was merged with Eurocarparts (ECP) quite a few years ago. But then it was cheap at £9.50 from ECP.

  • Which alfaholics have no problems to sell.

Looked at the prices for cars from JLR classic?

  • In the late 90's I went to Glastonbury in a Swiss Army VW Camper

Did it feature one of those tools for getting stones out of horses hooves in the centre console?

  • No, just a fold down table :) Not even a toothpick in the glovebox.

  • Check out my drill

  • Nice. But you need a compound slide vice under it.

Digging the Linbins though. Very style, much organise.

  • Wolf drill?

  • Digging the fancy coving, might copy this in my garage as there's an awkward gap between the wall and ceiling.
