Its been ages since I went, but I assume so. John Lewis also have OK cheaper suits in the sale, although the M&S one I had altered was better quality. I did have to go through a lot of suits to find one that wasn't River Island either or shirt pocket with pens.
In case it's helpful in terms of alterations I had the waist on the jacket done and the trousers slimmed. Think it was £30-50.
