FS: Rare Titanium Eddy Merckx - 55/56cm

Posted on
  • Looking for about £700. Unique - I've been watching Ebay for one similar for years and haven't seen one ever. It's a custom version of a Millenium (brochure attached) and full details and pictures of the frame are here: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/232572/?offset=325. From the Merckx owners thread five years ago!

Based in London and have to meet for inspection etc.. Please let me know if you have any questions. It's been stored in my attic for ages, but it's time for someone else to enjoy its very smooth ride.

    Thanks

    jaybee

  • very pretty - GLWS

  • Look at those bullett end dropouts, that’s how you make them strong . Lovely for someone , but too small for me and I already have two Merckx’s..

  • This is not Millennium, this is EMC Titane EM built in 1999/2000 in Meise...

  • Yep you can the difference from the dropout on the catalogue photo above , looks much nicer than that millennium imho..

  • All titanium frames built for EMC by Litespeed and frames built in Meise until 2000 had the same "style" of dropouts fixing - only the Millennium model had it modified...

  • Sorry that I haven't been back to this thread for ages; I wanted to say thanks to Jeromeo and emerxil for their info, which is super helpful. Titane EM makes perfect sense as it's got Titane EM polished (not sure what the correct word is for the process) into the drive side chainstay! It's actually really hard to photograph as it wraps round the stay, but I've attached a not very successful attempt. I'll have a go tomorrow in daylight. Also noticed in the bottom pic above that it looks like there's some wear on the fork shoulder, but it's actually a reflection in the coating of the carbon fibre forks.

Looking at the frame every day as it's in my office, waiting for a new owner. Still love the lines and look of the frame. If anyone is interested please let me know. Happy to meet (socially distanced of course) in north or central London.

  • If I had that money...
It would fit perfectly with my Merckx Titane (De Rosa Titanio)...
I don't think there will be a second such opportunity...
    Life is cruel...

  • Would you take £500 including delivery to Portsmouth ?

    Many thanks
