  • Bar id? I know gusset but which ones

  • Nice selection of parts lined up there. Sorry if I missed it, did you do the brake mods etc. yourself?

  • Love it! Choice parts & nicely butchered frame.

Can’t wait to see it in one piece.

  • Almost finished gotta cut and bleed new brake hoses, maybe tomorrow. Decided on a different seatpost, tires and seat that I had knocking around. Came out ok, touch small but oh well

  • after 7 years of looking for one... I am finally the happy owner of a Ridley Oval! sorry for the world's worst photo of a bike.

    +Rolling_Thunder --->good traders

I miss having a modern tarck bike to do my socially distanced skids on, so it's reunited with original 4Za Ellyps forks, 25c/23c paselas ( although I can probably fit 28c/25c, so will do that), goldtec ring, destickered wheels, and bullhorns. saving any more tinkering for a rainy (Tier 3) day.

  • Yes!!

  • This is frikkin sick!

  • Looks great, but I'm curious about why you were looking for one for so long? Is there a special reason? It looks like a fairly standard alloy track frame to me.

  • Perhaps it’s to do with the size? Not that many options for the taller gent when it comes to modern track bikes.

    I think it looks fab.

  • @M_V sorted me out! Amazing to deal with and got my quite particular wishes exactly as I had imagined in my head.

  • Open prison. I had to strip all the powder off cause it was too thick to get the grips on. pain in the rear but looks cool.

Build paused til mid week as I overtightened the seat clamp and cracked it. Brakes will take a lot of tinkering with too I think.

Trying to up my game on IG as I work as a courier and it’s nice to share things so will post most updates on there: jamestaylortayl for anyone interested.

  • I’m pretty tall and it was too small, reduced my handlebar choice to only 2 or 3.

Holding it til the end of the month for a member of staff at a shop that’s help me out with some bits over the years.

  • Thanks @hollow__legs

Yes it’s to do with the size. It’s probably the largest modern track frame, slightly larger than Condor’s offering too. Cinelli etc don’t even come close.

    E.g. 61cm Condor Lavoro - 22.2cm head tube
    This frame 62cm (66cm c-t) - 24cm ht

  • nds, i know, but the gf’s happy with the new beik

  • This is looking sick!

How well do the 650Bs fit between the chainstays?

  • Parts bin gravel beater for winter

  • Cheers!

Pretty well. 47c in there with around 10mm clearance. Maybe can squeeze a 2.3”

  • Nice, thanks!

I've got a similar size & vintage Stumpjumper that I'm toying with 650B'ing so this is very helpful.

  • The image couldn’t load. * ehh, photo editing won’t let me rotate the image.

  • I like that a lot.

  • Is it an MBK under the paint? Always fancied a Trainer as a knockabout bike:

  • It must be inspired by them mustn't it. I think Columbus must have knocked a few SL tubesets with these shaped main tubes and dropped stay rear triangles out as there seems to be a small number about that look exactly the same, although I think that particular MBK might be made from their own tubing. I had a pinky-purply sparkle one that I sold here that would have built up superbly and a very nice bargain!
Would love to know more about Chris Marshall; believe he was based around Leeds way so within a good racing scene.
