Google tells me that snake pass is the quickest route anyway. Midweek daytime is surely absolutely ideal. Especially if the weather stays like it is. Car looks sweet.

Thanks. I’m stuck on the train in edale with a broken down freight train in front! Maybe not new car day after all
-
• #61004
Ah fuck! If I wasn't ill at home with a fever I could have offered you a lift.
-
• #61005
Thanks mate. Have a work colleague who lives in chapel who may be able to give me a lift but he’s gone into Manchester today.

I'm picking up a new car on friday from a family member. the V5c is going in my name at the same time.
The tax runs out in June 21; does anyone know if I need to retax it in my name, or am I ok to leave it until June?
-
• #61007
Needs to be taxed immediately. V5C amendment will automatically cancel outstanding tax.
-
• #61008
Tax it straight away on the government website. Tax is no longer transferred. The previous owner will be refunded for any full months that remain.

Brilliant - thanks both - wondered if that was only if it came from a dealer.

Was at least one using toothpaste? All the light kits are is an abrasive compound to remove the faded layer and then coat the plastic with something.
-
• #61012
Seem popular with the audax lot.
-
• #61013
Yep, one had toothpaste. Most intriguing was a wipe with acetone to melt the plastic after sanding!
-
• #61014
Acetone may not be a great idea as I have damaged plastics, and old BT rotary telephone by cleaning it with acetone....No sure who was more shocked me or my parents.

Just catching up, woah the MG Maestro is a time capsule, not seen one of those for yonks.
Those MG Maestro's talked didn't they? Basically Britain's version of Kitt from Knight Rider in the mid 80's, alas not featuring any of the cool shit of Hoff's one. Instead the BL one was a Health & Safety obsessed android reminding you to put your seatbelt on, and highlighting the numerous manufacturing faults . Youtube provides....

I imagine it scared the shit out of owners with a barrage of panicked warning messages, sounding like a downed fighter, Mayday! Mayday! Catastrophic engine seizure imminent! Flames approaching, please exit vehicle at your earliest convenience! Not many classics spots recently, I think many have been tucked up for winter. These divide opinion, much as I love curvy cars there's still something catfish ugly about these that makes it not quite work for me. Looks best from this angle, and this one is in great condition, a Karmann Ghia
Love this old Bimmer.
And here's something else I've not seen for ages. The narrow axles make them look really easy to roll, and it looks more suited to the railway than the road. I think @bq loves them, and this one looks well looked after, a Commer van.

"Interior - some imperfections." I would not get into that.

The bimmer is a beaut

I feel like I'm missing something, 12k deffo seems bonkers! @Fixedwheelnut - any idea why people are bidding that high?

looks like someone might have died in that seat
Or been conceived in that seat.
Has anyone with a Skoda Yeti had a bike in the back with the rear seats down or taken out? How did the bike fit in? Do you need to remove the front wheel or will it fit with it turned sideways? Considering getting one.
