Get uBlock Origin--gets rid of ads completely. You can also install Privacy Redirect (browser extension). Invidious (YouTube redirecter) has its issues and there are often problems with different instances, but I think it's getting better and more stable.

i find youtube unwatchable at the moment. are they trying to fuck you off so much with the ads that you just go: "okay, i'll stump up for paid membership - thanks guys!" cuntheads.
i was watching an animation of the space shuttle (natch) with ted and there was a fucking ad about doodle presentations that went on for about 3 minutes TWO MINUTES INTO THE SHOW!
