Rust holes in steel frame

Sanded an old steel mtb frame back to re paint and found a couple of holes on the chain stay that looks to be rust perforation.

Could I fill, paint over and ignore or should I be worried?

Depends on how old the frame (tube) is sont risk it not worth it

22/23 years old. Do chainstays take a lot of punishment under load?

A frame builder will replace that stay for about £90. Is it worth saving?

In monetary terms it’s not worth saving if that’s the cost to repair it. But it would be a shame to bin it.

Can you reccommend a London based frame builder just in case?
