The Gabba short sleeve is thicker than the Perfetto short sleeve.
Can confirm.

If anyones interested, been riding in an Orkaan recently, like a gabba but waterproof, very impressed. Its now my go to over the gabba.

Has anyone tried the new Gabba / Perfetto ROS range ? Updated materials and taped seams, a lot more expensive though...

The time has come to replace my (original) short sleeve Gabba, which must be, dunno, 8 years old or so. It still works but it’s stained, marked and torn.
I have a castelli alpha jersey for colder days <7 degrees say, and classic rapha soft shell for never. So I use the gabba in 7-14 degree temps, either short fast rides in rain or longer rides in changeable conditions and drizzle. Any warmer and I’m probably just sticking a light gilet over a normal jersey, and for long rides in constant rain, I’ve an equally vintage Assos race cape.
Short sleeves, bright colour. Breathable and warm when wet is much more important than waterproof
Should I be buying a perfecto?

For this temperature range my go to is a Sportful Fiandre Light No Rain SS jersey. Bright orange colour. Holds off the rain well and doesn't overheat. Usually take a gilet in the back pocket just in case. Works for me down to about 6-7 with a decent base layer and paired with No Rain arm warmers. I do run fairly hot though, always overheat in a Gabba!

Don't Castelli own Sportful?

Same parent company but different r&d I believe. .. not sure they have an equivalent jersey to this though..

Thanks - forgot about the sportful version. Pretty sure that it’s pretty much identical to the original gabba (rather than the heavier more waterproof taped seam thing the gabba has turned into)
Bit horrified by some of the prices though - think I paid 60-70 quid for my gabba. Not sure I’m up for spending 160-170...

You’ve missed out on 8 years of R&D and the associated cost increases too.

It literally doubled in 4 years. But tapered seams

Can't say that having tapered seams or not bothered me.
My Gabba 2 neon yellow is a bit stained with road muck, but still going strong.I think I could get the stains out, but worried that being too aggressive will damage the DWR irreperably.

anyone ever bought and applied some iron-on transfers to a gabba ? was thinking about getting my club's initials added
Just picked up a new perfetto LS - It does seem very similar to the Gabba - maybe a fraction thinner than my mk1 but I could be imagining it, will put them side by side and compare them. Cut is slightly different too - mostly with a longer neck and slightly slimmer arms (which suits me).
