Thanks for the heads up… I'll be interested to see if they have the white one in stock.
Cheers

waiting for them to get back to me with the answer.
-
• #5
yes, they confirmed stock and prices as valid
-
• #6
it would mean that the white one from Condor is £210 - sorry mate
-
• #7
Ah well... No worries. That's me out of the picture then! :D
-
• #8
drop the price and you may tempt someone ...
-
• #9
Still for sale?
-
• #10
Yeh, still for sale, though I can't get anywhere near £210 unfortunately…
-
• #11
Hi, have you already sold your saddle?
-
• #12
In 7 years.. Mmm

The user was last active in 2012 so I'd be surprised. Better off posting in the Wanted thread if you're after one.

Sooooo… Pretty crazy that this is now 8 years later but after changing my mind and deciding to keep/ride the saddle, it is now back up for sale.
It's obviously no longer in new/mint condition as per above but has been lovingly looked after for all these years and I think still looks stunning.
Let me know if there's any interest.

The link seems to go off to eBay...
-
• #16
Hi Alan, it does yes. Sorry if that's an issue… I've not been on these forums for a long long time and only thought about them after I'd listed on eBay. I would happily take down from eBay if sold here and can remove the link if the forum rules require.
Best, Sam -
• #17
Yeah forum rules require that I'm afraid

Amazing that 8 years later having worn it out with your sweaty crotch, you feel at the top end it's worth the same.
-
• #19
The saddle for these times
-
• #20
hmm yeah, eBay or here not both.
That pricing though ...
-
• #21
does this go up or down in value after brexit
-
• #22
Hi Anidel, I've removed the link, apologies for any problems caused. Updating here was a bit of an afterthought and to be honest, I'm amazed the thread still existed and my login worked.

I know the ‘Buy it Now’ I’ve set is very high and that will probably be ridiculous to most people. I guess that represents how much it’s worth to me more than anything else. How much it’s actually worth depends on how much someone else is willing to pay for it I guess.
Not that I should have to justify to the internet, but given 500 were made and distributed worldwide, I’m not sure how many will still be in the UK so it’s quite rare. People’s circumstances change, I’d rather not sell it but I am.
As to mustardbeak’s comment; go to the Bank of England’s inflation calculator and maybe see how much the value of money changes over 8 years as a starting point. I don’t think it’s worth the same, today’s money is worth less. As to my ‘sweaty crotch’, I’m surprised you’re an authority on the matter but anyone who’s suffered through the first few hundred miles of treating and breaking in a new Brooks knows the value.

Somewhere I have the much rarer version of this. I had a ti swallow which over stretched and Brooks replaced the brown leather with some white leather left over from making these. AFAIK only two like this were made, @teddy and myself were the lucky recipients. Mine has been ridden a couple of times.

Copy / paste from the classifieds rules:
No cross-posting adverts you've put on other sites. If you have an item for sale anywhere other than here, like ebay, bikeradar, ctc, retrobike, etc. then you cannot post it here
So it's either fleabay etc or here but not both.
Though it pains me massively to let this beauty go, I am selling a Limited Edition Brooks White Swallow Saddle. This saddle is 1 of only 500 made by brooks to celebrate British cycling and the olympics. From the Brooks website:

*“ The White Swallow is a Limited Edition of 500 saddles, This limited edition features a white leather top and the original chrome plated steel metalwork, and reproduces the timeless design of the daddy of all modern racing saddles, first in production in 1937.
This saddle is part of the UNION JACK SWALLOWS LIMITED EDITION 2012, a tricolour issue of the legendary B15, created to celebrate the Olympiad that in 2012 comes to visit London for the third time in history. The Red and Blue models will be delivered in the special “Union Jack” packaging, while the White in the singular “England” box.”*

Google shopping search gets you prices of £456.31 and £554.99, but I'm selling mine for £370. It's in pristine as-new condition and only made it's way carefully out of the box once for the photos.
If I sell via lfgss, I'll sell it to one of you guys for £350 and make a donation to lfgss.
